• Founded in 1997 by its current managers, Gilles Bennejean and Pierrick Chatron-Michaud, the Cléor Group is a chain of jewellery shops employing some 200 people in the 49 outlets mainly located in shopping centres in the north of France. The Group is positioned in “bottom-of-the-range” products for customers of all ages, with a product mix focusing on silver-plated costume jewellery. For two years now, Cléor’s managers have been working to standardize the network by developing a modern concept (new logo, brighter and more open stores, improved layout, new atmosphere) with attractive prices. Banexi investment fund acquired an interest in the Group at the beginning of 2007.

• Nature of the deal : Growth Capital
• Date of the first investment : december 2007

• Capzanine mezzanine financed the buy-out of 11 jewellery shops as well as the refurbishment work required to adopt the new concept. The team was particularly won over by the quality of the managers, their complementary natures and their experience in the field. The network’s performances, the product range / market trend match and the Group’s development goals confirmed Capzanine’s decision to invest.
